Radhika Yadav, a 25-year-old state-level tennis player from Gurugram, Haryana, was tragically shot dead by her father on Thursday. The incident occurred around 10:30 am at their family residence in Sector 57. Preliminary reports suggest the confrontation began over a disagreement related to a social media video reel that Radhika had posted, which reportedly angered her father, leading him to use his licensed revolver to fire three shots at her.

Radhika was immediately rushed to a private hospital in critical condition but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries during treatment. Authorities recovered the licensed firearm from the scene. According to Sandeep Kumar, the public relations officer of Gurugram Police, the tension in the household was directly linked to the social media post, which triggered the violent reaction from the father. Police confirmed the details after receiving information from the hospital and statements from family members.

Radhika Yadav was a promising athlete with an International Tennis Federation (ITF) doubles ranking of 113. Born on March 23, 2000, she was ranked among the top 200 doubles players globally. In a separate incident reported recently from Gurugram, a 30-year-old man allegedly strangled his wife following a domestic dispute in Rajendra Park, highlighting ongoing concerns around domestic violence in the area.
