Fans have been eagerly anticipating her comeback as Tulsi Virani, a character that left an indelible mark on Indian television history. On Monday, the first look of Smriti in her classic Tulsi avatar was leaked online, reigniting nostalgia among viewers.
In the leaked glimpse, Smriti is seen donning a maroon saree with an intricate zari border, staying true to her original style. Her look is completed with a prominent red bindi, traditional temple jewelry, and a black-beaded mangalsutra all elements that defined Tulsi’s iconic image. This reboot marks Smriti Irani’s return to acting after a gap of 15 years, making it a highly anticipated moment for her fans.
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, produced by Ekta Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms, remains one of the most influential television serials in India. Originally airing on Star Plus from July 3, 2000, to November 6, 2008, the show ran for over 1,800 episodes. The reboot will also see Amar Upadhyay reprising his role as Mihir. Although it was initially scheduled to premiere on July 3, production has experienced a slight delay.
