As Shanaya Kapoor prepares for her Bollywood debut with Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, she is already learning to handle the intense scrutiny that comes with fame. In a recent interview, she candidly shared her approach to online criticism, revealing that she doesn’t avoid negative comments but actively seeks them out. “I’m someone who looks for negative articles and comments. I owe it to the audience to know what they are saying,” Shanaya told Screen.
Unlike many celebrities who steer clear of online hate, Shanaya embraces criticism—even when it’s personal. She acknowledged that some remarks can be “very brutal,” particularly those focused on her appearance. “Sometimes it can be very brutal, about how I dress, how I look, how my body is. Those I keep aside and filter out. It has happened over time,” she explained.
Reflecting on her journey, Shanaya said she has learned to differentiate between criticism to ignore and feedback to use constructively. “I take it in a positive way. It’s a feedback on my craft to work on and getting better,” she added, demonstrating a mature outlook as she steps into the spotlight.
