How Israel Eliminated Iran’s Leading Nuclear Scientist.

Share

On Wednesday, just hours before a cease-fire negotiated by the U.S. and Qatar took effect, another attack in northern Iran resulted in the death of scientist Sayyed Seddighi Saber, according to reports from both Israeli and Iranian state media. Saber had recently been sanctioned by the U.S. for his involvement in nuclear weapons-related activities.

These targeted killings represent the culmination of a 15-year campaign to eliminate key figures associated with Iran’s secret nuclear weapons program, which the country actively pursued until at least 2003. Israel has been meticulously monitoring these scientists throughout this period, aiming to dismantle one of Iran’s most valuable assets.

The violence has escalated, evident from various incidents, including smoke rising over Tehran following an attack on an oil depot and the offices of Iran’s state broadcaster being struck in an Israeli operation. Additionally, satellite images reveal damage to the Arak nuclear facility amid ongoing hostilities, with technicians at the Isfahan nuclear facility also caught in the turmoil since 2005.
