An IndiGo employee, Sharan A, 35, from Bengaluru, has filed an FIR accusing three of his senior colleagues of caste-based harassment during a company meeting held in Gurugram. The complaint, originally filed in Bengaluru, led to the registration of an FIR at DLF Phase 1 police station in Gurugram. According to Station House Officer Rajesh Kumar, an investigation is underway, and appropriate action will be taken in accordance with the law. In his complaint, Sharan stated that he belongs to the Adi Dravida community, a Scheduled Caste, and alleged repeated caste-based verbal abuse, discrimination, and workplace harassment.

Sharan named three IndiGo employees—Tapas Dey, Manish Sahni, and Captain Rahul Patil—as the individuals who allegedly made derogatory remarks against him during a meeting on April 28. He further claimed he had been subjected to persistent mistreatment, including being insulted publicly, receiving unwarranted warning letters, facing unjustified salary deductions, curtailed sick leave, and the revocation of staff travel and ACM privileges. He also alleged that he was pressured to resign and that prior complaints to the company’s CEO and ethics committee went unanswered.

IndiGo has strongly denied the allegations, describing the complaint as baseless. In an official statement, the airline reiterated its commitment to maintaining a respectful and inclusive workplace, asserting that it has a zero-tolerance policy for any form of discrimination or harassment. “IndiGo upholds values of fairness, integrity, and accountability and will cooperate with law enforcement agencies as required,” the company spokesperson said.
